This patented (US 6,279,980 B 1 / US D504,384 S) Xtender ™ is designed to fold down to 2 inches against inside of tailgate when not in use, compared to the other bulky “Flip- up tube designs. The Xtender provides an additional 2 feet of secured cargo space. It is ideal for all short beds with extended cabs and 8 foot beds with tool boxes.
The Xtender is designed for easy installation. It is made of 1/8 inch aluminum diamond plate and can be clear coated or powder coated most colors to protect further against oxidation. Side panels are secured in place by way of OEM tailgate receptors. The Xtender is compatible with bed covers and bed caps as it mounts below top edge of tailgate.
This product, I feel has great profit potential for a company with manufacturing, marketing and distribution expertise. I will entertain selling outright my patent rights or provide an exclusive licensing agreement.

1998 - 2006 Construction Services Management Macomb, MI / OwnerCompany completed several residential and commercial renovations, additions and new construction through out metro Detroit. Most recent new construction projects included 615 West 14 Mile Rd. and 907 West 14 Mile Rd. Clawson, MI. As a contracted Project Manager I successfully coordinated several Detroit Area remodeling and ground up Municipal projects for a local GC. This included the Fraser Senior Citizens Activity Center Addition, Fraser, MI., WCCC Science Lab Renovation Downriver Campus, Multi-Purpose Room Renovation – WCCC Detroit and the demolition of existing and the construction of new the new Beach House at Spencer Park, Rochester Hills.
Assisted Kmart Corp. in the capacity of Project Manager on several HVAC Retrofit Projects throughout Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. This included Contractor Qualifying, Developing scope of work, Preparation of bid documents, Prebid site meetings, Bid Spread Sheet, Contract Awardment, Project Scheduling, Field Reports and Construction Progress photos while interfacing with Kmart Resource Center, HVAC Contractor and Kmart store location managers so as to limit disruptions at store level. Conducted final project punch out to assure company plans and specifications were adhered to. Assisted contractors with required documentation forms / billing.

1994 - 1998 Super Kmart Centers Kmart Corp. Troy, MI / Manager of RefrigerationBuyer of all refrigeration equipment for grocery department, i.e. refrigeration racks, walk-in coolers / freezers, display cases. I pre-qualified refrigeration installation contractors, prepared bid packages, prepared bid spreadsheets, awarded refrigeration equipment installation contract, and scheduled grocery equipment installation. I have resolved issues during the construction phase, through continuous communication with Kmart Design Dept., Kmart Project Representative, General Contractor and refrigeration equipment installation contractor. I completed 55, on schedule, within budget installations /store openings nationwide during my employment. I trained other regional offices, field personnel and store associates on the preventive maintenance procedures of all grocery refrigeration equipment.
1990 – 1994 Kmart Corp. Troy, MI / Regional Facility ManagerI was responsible for the operational maintenance of 148 retail locations through out Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, by managing lease terms and negotiating project funds with Kmart headquarters and landlords. I prepared capital project requests that included funding request and scope of work / bid. I prepared mechanical maintenance and common area maintenance expense budgets for each fiscal year with Microsoft Excel and Access database presentation for corporate management to review. I have built databases for life cycle analysis and cost analysis of building and equipment that has out lived service ability including cradle to grave refrigerants from various HVAC systems and asbestos pipe wrap insulation abatement while providing technical assistance to senior corporate management. Assisted the implementation of ADA compliance and developed, prepared and executed a maintenance expense budget of 22 million dollars for the maintenance and upgrades of store facilities that ranged from 45,000 to 128,000 square feet. Performed quarterly site maintenance inspections of facilities i.e., roofs, parking lots and HVAC equipment. Coordinated and monitored the activities of carpenters, masons, roofers, automatic door repairmen, locksmiths, glazers, asphalt companies, HVACR technicians and maintenance technicians to provide required building services to achieve optimum customer safety and comfort.
