HOW IT WORKS
Hard light weight case, the laptop sleeve or case is for protecting your laptop in transport i.e. when placing in backpack, suit case, etc... Facilitates ease of access to laptop thru airport security, and saves a space for your laptop amongst your other items. Top lid of sleeve is hinged to open for easily sliding laptop into and out of case. The "sleeve" Is also a desk to support your laptop at various angles to facilitate very ergonomic use of keyboard and viewing of laptop screen. By lifting hinged top, hinged at its back side, and also hinged in an opposing direction at its center point, and by effectively bending the lid and locking it into sides of the case you provide an angled surface to rest your laptop on.PURPOSES
1. To safely transport laptop in an internally cushioned hard case, that by design i.e. (thru airport security), makes pulling the laptop out of its case and replacing it, inside of what ever else you have the case in, (amongst all your other ..Stuff...) extremely simple.
2. Get where you’re going and the case doubles as an adjustable laptop desk. It holds computer securely at any desired angle. Angling the laptop facilitates easier use of keyboard (less stress) and holds screen higher for better viewing of laptop screen.
HOW PRODUCT IS UNIQUE
Most of the laptop protections, I have seen, are of a soft case design. Laptop hard cases tend to be of a brief case style.....Another item to hold onto. I know of none that double as a stand for holding laptop at an ergonomic angle, and are made to just throw in with your other things (one less thing to carry).
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The product will be produced of a hard, light weight plastic. Top possibly corrugated or ridged to enhance cooling of computer. The laptop Sleeve should be strong enough to be suitable for protecting the laptop during transport. The interior of the laptop Case is lined with felt covered foam, or a product with similar characteristics that will hold the laptop securely, provide a bit of shock protection, protect from marring or scratching the laptop as it is slid in and out. The top (Lid) of the sleeve is hinged at the back, center and front. The hinged front facilitates easy removal of laptop from the sleeve for quick easy access thru airport security. The front, center and rear hinges facilitate positioning the case top (Lid) at an angle to set the laptop on and hold the laptop in an ergonomic position while in use. The top and sides of the case are built with a toothed configuration that will mesh at various points to allow for setting the top at various angles by locking the lid into the sides of the case.
VERSIONS
Three basic sizes, given, padding to give and hold within a tolerance, would hold 90% of the laptops in use. The basic idea could be incorporated into brief cases, back packs, or any # of carry on luggage. The design with a few dimensional changes could also incorporate storage for accessories, chargers, cords... The design could adapt from a very basic 3 piece design to more technical versions with carry handles and latched or locking lids.
